Clark/Walker Save the Date

Today's piece came off the press yesterday! I designed this piece for Alisha Clark and Luke Walker, a couple of SUPER talented wedding photographers who are getting married in New York this coming June. She wanted to try mix and matching vintage handkerchiefs instead of using new hankies, so every guest will receive something unique in the mail! I think the imperfections, tears, and little stains make these heirloom pieces just... perfect! Thanks for the great photos, Alisha! :)

Hi, I would love more information on the pricing of printing a message on handkerchiefs. I was thinking of printing our names and date on them and handing them out at our ceremony.

Me too! They are beautiful!

Me three...I think this is such a wonderful idea...I'm also thinking they can be used for a baby shower/bridal shower as a gift.

Where did you find the handkerchiefs? Estate sales?

I purchased them in a lot on eBay. They're a totally random assortment, but that's what makes them great I think.

Thanks so much for posting this great idea! I loved the idea so much that I bought a lot of handkerchiefs on eBay myself this morning!

I'm going to use them either for Save the Date or as wedding favors--or both!

We love the idea of reusing something vintage for our wedding--we're trying to do tie the knot as green (as greenly?) as possible.

Thanks again--I can't wait to see how the idea turns out for our wedding.

This is an amazing idea. Too stinkin cute! You've just inspired me to think even more out side of the box for my son's wedding! Can't wait to show them these! These will definitely be on my Wedding Wednesday blog post in the near future! Thanks!

What kind of envelope did you put these in to send them out? They are amazing!

Erin said...

They mail out in a button and string tie envelope. It can also be mailed in a small box, though that's a bit costlier.

I adore this. I was thinking of making invites on fabric but never thought of the vintage hankies.

these are fantastic! I have a huge collection of vintage hankies, what a great way to put them to use. Did you screenprint these?

I absolutely LOVE these! They're beautiful, unique, chic.....so perfect! I'm also curious about the pricing on something similiar. Fabulous work!

this is what i did for our wedding invitations. it worked really well! you can do them yourself by buying iron-on transfer paper and buying lots of vintage hankies! or if you are into gocco or silkscreen, that is what we did.

This is such a great idea!! Did you screenprint these yourself? I am trying to learn the screenprinting process, but I can't seem to get it right, would love some insights. :-)

they are gorgeous!! how did you end up mailing them?

Erin said...

They usually mail in envelopes unless you want to up the ante and send them in pretty boxes.

This is such a great idea as I love things that are vintage and the concept of something old/something new.
I am a Green Photographer and can't wait to share this on my blog for the brides on the West Coast!
